Research:

Professor Fly's areas of research include nutrient metabolism, and food patterns of children and adolescents. Currently she works collaboratively with the nutrition division of the Indiana Department of Education to evaluate the federal Fruit and Vegetable Program in Indiana schools, and with other IU colleagues to address obesity in Indiana conducting an elicitation of the belief structures underlying four key food and physical activity behaviors. She is also involved in a collaborative project to measure the influence of diet and physical exercise on arterial flexibility. She has received funding for her research from numerous agencies in Indiana, including the Indiana Department of Education, Nutrition Education and Training Program, Indiana Department of Health, Marion County Hospital and Healthcare Corporation, Dairy and Nutrition Council, Inc., and the Special State Research Funding Program of Indiana University.
