My research focuses on the ATOD (Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug use) survey by the Indiana Children and adolescents. The goal of this survey is to provide information about the prevalence rate of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, particularly the four major illicit drugs: cigarettes, alcohol, marijuana, and inhalent use among Indiana youth and adolescents.

Marijuana use is a problem among higher grade Indiana youth. |

The survey is designed with two purposes in mind: (1) to measure the ATOD prevalence on a statewide basis for statewide planning and evaluation, and (2) to measure the ATOD prevelance on a local basis for local planning and evaluation purposes. This survey allows local professionals to assess the need for prevention programs and to meet the requirements of funding agencies for an accurate assessment of the extent of the local need.
